| Art of Jazz is committed to the advancement of jazz and jazz education in Canada and abroad. We provide exceptional musical instruction for individuals, groups and ensembles and offer educational events in jazz music for all jazz lovers. We work in concert with schools and arts organizations to bring professional jazz artists to schools throughout the greater Toronto metropolitan area, offering interactive workshops that combine theoretical instruction with performance/demonstrations. Through performance, educational programs, exhibits, workshops, mentorship and training, we celebrate accomplishments of the past and present to ensure the continued evolution and perpetuation of the art of jazz for the future.
Our education programs include:
- Workshops, open rehearsals, master classes, mentoring sessions, community events and interactive performances by jazz masters.
- An Educational Outreach Program aimed at under serviced communities that ensures affordable access and opportunities to Canadian youth.
- A High School Jazz Conference with clinics and performances by influential Canadian and foreign artists. Juried performances culminate in an award ceremony recognizing the top student ensemble, a performance date at the Art of Jazz Celebration weekend, along with an annual educational scholarship for the most deserving student.
